The 564th year of the conquest of İstanbul by the Ottoman Empire from the Byzantine Empire, has been celebrated with a parade of with 1453 trucks in the construction area of the third airport of İstanbul.
3,000 people have worked in the event, the parade continued 1 hour and 47 minutes and the preparations for the parade took seven hours.
According to the report of Hürriyet daily, Yusuf Akçayoğlu, the CEO of the contractor firm of the airport construction said:
"Like in the spirit of the quest that lead to the end of an era and to the beginning of a new one, we as well are a nation which has always demonstrated what we are capable of when we come together".
The 1453 trucks have done 3.2 km. The action plans to listed among the Guiness World Records as "the longest truck parade" and beat Holland which holds the record with 416 trucks. (EKN/DG)
