Professor Nazan Haydari presented her research examining how six television channels framed the Syria agenda during the period of January 6 – February 6, 2026. The event discussed the strengthening of security language during crisis periods and the need for editorial continuity in peace journalism.

The research examined TV broadcasts about North and East Syria, also known as Rojava, and found that coverage largely focused on security and war measures, and often using polarizing, “othering” language when discussing Kurds.
