The curfew declared in six neighborhoods and one street of Turkey’s southeastern Sur district of Diyarbakır province was lifted yesterday, December 10 as of 11 p.m. The curfew had originally been declared in Cevatpaşa, Dabanoğlu, Fatihpaşa, Hasırlı, Savaş, Cemal Yılmaz neighborhoods and Gazi street as of 1 p.m. on November 28 upon killing of Diyarbakır Bar President Tahir Elçi, lifted at 7 a.m. on November 30, yet imposed again on December 2, Wednesday as of 5 a.m.

Dicle News Agency (DİHA) has reported that the police blockade has been maintained and special operation teams have been performing identity check on persons entering and exiting the prohibited neighbourhoods.
According to the report, police have stated that “the curfew has been lifted with caution”.
