Some 125 wildfires have erupted in various parts of Turkey since July 28 and 117 of them have been contained or extinguished, according to the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Paldemirli.
Seven fires are still continuing in the popular holiday resorts of Antalya and Muğla in the country's south, said the minister.

Muğla: Road access disrupted
Efforts are continuing to contain the fire in Bodrum district. The neighborhoods of Alevler, Çökertme, Bozalan, Fesleğen, Gökbel and Türkevleri have been evacuated.
There are concerns that the fires may reach the coal-fired power plant in Türkevleri.
Trees falling on roads sometimes block the roads to the neighborhoods of Gökpınar, Aşağı Mazı and Yukarı Mazı.
Locals and some NGOs participate in the efforts, bringing food and cold drinks to firefighters.
Some people evacuated from Aşağı Mazı neighborhood have been placed in touristic facilities.
Milas Mayor Muhammet Tokat said last night (August 1) that fires were especially severe in the Çökertme neighborhood. It was no longer possible to save the forests but residential areas should be protected, he said.

Antalya
Air and land response to the forest fires in Manavgat, Gündoğmuş and Akseki distritcs continues. Fires erupted in four locations in the district on July 28 and one of the fires that were extinguished reportedly restarted due to the lack of cooling efforts.
Fires are intensifying in Taşağıl neighborhood. Locals support firefighters.
Rapidly rising flames caused panic among journalists and people.
Fires were prevented from reaching the Hocaköy neighborhood.
In Kepezbeleni, fires have been continuing since July 29.

Air response to the fire in Gülendağ neighborhood continues to prevent the flames from reaching nearby residential areas.
The fire that erupted in Ortakonuş neighborhood on July 29 has spread to Çarızözü, Senir, Narağacı, Balkaya and Ümütlü. Due to the steep terrain in the region, firefighting efforts are said to be more difficult to carry out.

Dersim
The ground fire in Hozat, Dersim in the country's east has been contained. The governor has announced that efforts to completely extinguish the fire are underway.
A group of politicians and NGO representatives, including the mayor of Derdim, were prevented from entering the site by police barricades.

Isparta
A forest fire erupted today in a natural park in the southwestern province of Isparta.
Firefighters respond to the fire as flames spread rapidly due to strong winds.
Denizli
Fires erupted in the forested area near Türlübey neighborhood in Buldan, Denizli. Municipal firefighters and forestry teams have been dispatched to the fire zone.
In Buldan's neighborhoods, citizens were called for help by public announcements from loudspeakers. (AÖ/VK)
