Detained on Sunday within protests to bring attention to ISIS’s attacks in Kobane, 25 women demonstrators affiliated with Peace Mothers Assembly and DÖKH feminist group were in Yenişehir located in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır.
Along with the women, police also released 3 active-duty journalists - Gökhan Altay from Dicle News Agency (DİHA), and Kader Gözüoğlu and Melek Yüksel from Women News Agency (JİNHA).
Reporter assaulted
On the other hand, DİHA reporter Mehmet Zeki Çiçek has reportedly been assaulted by 5 special-ops police officers in İdil located in the southeastern province of Şırnak on October 10.
It was claimed that the police pointed their guns at the journalist even though he presented his credentials and fired their guns. While Çiçek was not affected by the attack, he suffered from bruises in his face and body due to the police attack.
Azadiya Welat worker gravely injured
It was also reported that Fırat Distribution Co and Kurdish-language newspaper Azadiya Welat worker Kadri Bağdu has been assaulted with guns as of this morning in Seyhan district, Adana.
