KCK (Kurdistan Communities Union) Executive Council Co-Chairs Bese Hozat and Cemil Bayık indicated that the President Erdoğan interrupted the resolution process and they were ready to ceasefire when government reverted to Dolmabahçe Summit.
Özgür Gündem (Free Agenda) Newspaper shared the explanations of Hozat and Bayık talked to Veysi Sarısözen from Özgür Gündem, Ramazan Ölçen from Azadiye Welat Newspaper and Rojbîn Ekin from Roj News with public opinion.
Headlines from Hozat and Bayık’s explanations are as below:
AKP doesn’t want PKK to ceasefire
“Resolution process has stopped. With Erdoğan’s approach after Dolmabahçe Summit, dialog process has been interrupted. They haven’t seen our leader and government councils haven’t negotiated for two months. Erdoğan said there wasn’t any Kurdish problem.
“Thus, AKP declared explicitly to the public opinion that Kurdish problem couldn’t be resolved democratically. There isn’t any dialog process and any functioning process.
“Ceasefire still continues for the sake of general elections. AKP provokes intensely during the election meetings and attacks HDP constantly. We wished to keep ceasefire in order to let down Erdoğan.
“AKP has already interrupted the resolution process and declared war. The war still goes on. Ceasefire continues unilaterally.
“AKP doesn’t want PKK to ceasefire. Otherwise, AKP would have taken a step democratically. AKP should resolve Kurdish problem with negotiations.
Bayık: Dolmabahçe summit should be based on
* Our leadership started the process with Dolmabahçe summit and declared to the world again during Newroz celebrations. Our leader showed his hand. He stated he would speak to delegation for observing and after speaking to them, he would improve the truth and reconciliation commission. Only after that we could reach an agreement.
* We aimed to convene based on Dolmabahçe summit. We were ready to convene but Erdoğan interrupted and sabotaged the process saying “There isn’t any Kurdish problem. If they say so they want to subvert the Republic of Turkey.” Erdoğan put an end to the resolution process.
* PKK would have declared ceasefire and would have improved democratic policy but Erdoğan interrupted. That’s why, we postponed the congress and paused.
* We are ready to ceasefire and convene if government bases on Dolmabahçe summit, accepts its ten article and start a negation in this direction, if a delegation for observing meets our Leader Öcalan and creates a committee for resolution in the parliament and if truth and reconciliation commission really functions.
