The RTÜK received over 44,000 complaints from citizens in a year. The most common reason for the complaints was about "violation of general morality."

RTÜK has notified the Voice of America, Deutsche Welle Türkçe and Euronews of its decision urging them to apply for a license. With the decision published on RTÜK’s website, the outlets have three days for application.
