While the HDP is not considering joining the opposition alliance for the next parliamentary election, it is in talks with left-wing parties and groups for a "democratic alliance," the party's co-chair Mithat Sancar has said.
Joining the Nation's Alliance of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) and the İYİ (Good) Party would be "neither necessary nor useful," Sancar told Diken news portal in an interview.
The opposition should find out how to work together until the elections rather than reducing the issue to who the presidential candidate will be, Sancar said.

The HDP is after forming a broad "democratic alliance" that includes several parties and political groups, he noted.
"We define our target of the democratic alliance to cover a broad range of segments. This alliance will not be limited to a certain circle. Of course, we want to walk together with the left and socialist powers," he said.
"It would be right to build this alliance on two legs. The pillar of this alliance must be the partnership of struggle," he added. "We are of the opinion that a discussion confined to election alliances cannot produce solutions for today's severe problems."
They intend to unite "all the oppressed," said Sancar.
The HDP has assigned a special delegation to conduct talks with left-wing groups, including the Labor Party (EMEP), the Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP), the Left (SOL) Party, the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), the Social Freedom Party (TÖP), Halkevleri and the Federation of Socialist Assemblies, he noted.
