A court ruled for the release of Makbule Özer, 80, a seriously ill prisoner in the Van High Security Prison.
Özer had been in prison since May 9, after receiving a prison sentence of 2 years and 1 month for "aiding a terrorist organization."
The Forensic Medicine Institute concluded that Özer could not meet her needs alone in prison and her sentence should be deferred for one year
Her family members and loved ones greeted Özer with flowers in front of the prison. She was seen using a walking stick and having difficulty walking.
