Suffering from multiple health issues, Makbule Özer was re-arrested this month.

People's Equality and Democracy Party deputies have applied to the Parliament Human Rights Inquiry Commission for 81-year-old Makbule Özer, for whom the Forensic Medicine Institute issued a report suggesting she could remain in prison.

Özer was sent to prison after she was found guilty of "aiding a terrorist organization."

The Ministry of Justice rejected the claims, saying that the patient was able to understand doctors' instructions.

Arrested on May 10, Makbule and Hadi Özer's lawyer Dilan Kunt says, “The condition of Makbule Özer is getting worse and worse with each passing day. She must be released as soon as possible.”
