Reporters Without Border (RSF) Austria awarded bianet with its Press Freedom Awards – A Signal for Europe. RSF Austria President Dr. Moehring said they have decided to give out this year’s award to bianet in order to emphasize on the jailed journalists in Turkey.
The award was presented to Nadire Mater, bianet’s project advisor, around a ceremony held in RSF Austria Headquarters, Vienna.
Given to reporters, journalists and publicists in southeast Europe and the neighboring states of the European Union since 2001, the prize is offered to critical, informative and investigative publications that cover: politics, press freedom, human rights, corruption, societal issues or related topics.
