The expert review of the footage that allegedly shows Gülistan Doku, who went missing in the southeastern Dersim province on January 5, jumping off a bridge has been completed.
According to the review by the National Criminal Bureau firm, what is seen in the footage is not Doku jumping off the Dinar Bridge, where she was last seen, but "residual pixels."
"The effect on the bridge abutment is a pixel residue and definitely not a water column created by a person or object that falls into the water," the report concluded.

The expert report also refuted an official report by the Tunceli (Dersim) Security Directorate Public Security Branch, which concluded that Doku committed suicide as her mobile phone signal was cut at 12.21 when she was on the bridge.
"With the official expert report, it has become clear that Gülistan did not jump into the water," the attorney of the Doku family, Ali Çimen, told bianet. Because of the police report, he said, the Doku family was told by the prosecutor's office and public authorities that "Your daughter is in the water and we are working at the dam. We will give your daughter to you."
The police report created an impression that Doku committed suicide, he added. "The theses that we have put forward from the beginning of the investigation have been confirmed with the official scientific report."
The suspect's father works at the public security branch
They conveyed their objections to the police report to the prosecutor's office, Çimen said. "After this report, it was evaluated that Gülistan jumped into the dam [lake] and the investigation was only carried out by searching in the water.
"We attribute the misleading report of the Public Security Branch to the fact that the leading suspect Zeınal Abarakov's stepfather works there. We stated that all operations should be carried out by the gendarmerie again due to the misleading attitude of the security [directorate]. The investigation is conducted only for false imprisonment. Driving someone to suicide and killing a person are not considered."
The Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office ordered on July 29 that Zeınal Abarakov's statement should be taken "by force." Attorney Çimen said there was no development regarding the situation.
Expert report on the meeting of Abarakov and Doku
On the day Doku went missing, she met with Abarakov in front of The Route Cafe, where he works. According to the expert report, Abarakov was talking to Doku "in a warning and overly insistent manner."
Abarakov's speech to Doku was "not like a normal talk of a man and a woman," the report said.
Doku stayed inside the cafe for about five minutes and when she got out, Zenal followed and stopped her and talked to her with insistent gestures, the report noted.
What happened?University student Gülistan Doku did not return to the Credit and Dormitories (KYK) Women's Dormitory on January 5, 2020. As her roommates could not reach her by phone, they got worried and appealed to the Tunceli Provincial Directorate of Security. Her family was also informed about the issue. The family came to Dersim on January 6 and reported Gülistan Doku missing at the security directorate. Consulting her friends and tracking the signals of her mobile phone, police officers also examined the city surveillance cameras and found that she got on the university minibus at the bus stop in Atatürk Neighborhood at 11.29. However, even though the city surveillance cameras along the way were examined, it could not be determined where she got off. The driver of the minibus was identified and summoned to depose. The driver said that the minibus did not enter the university as it was Sunday, the minibus returned empty and he could not remember where Gülistan Doku got off. It is speculated that Doku got off at Sarı Saltuk Bridge in city center, the only bus stop outside the sight of surveillance cameras |
