Turkey experienced record-breaking high temperature yesterday, the minister of environment, urbanization and climate change announced on social media. The temperature soared to 49.5 degrees Celsius in the Sarıcakaya district of Eskişehir, central Turkey.

This new record surpasses the previous one set on July 20, 2021, when the temperature reached 49.1 degrees Celsius in Cizre, Şırnak in the country's southeast.
Özhaseki took the opportunity to emphasize the importance of addressing climate change, calling on citizens to join efforts in achieving the climate goals outlined by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. These goals include the 2053 Net Zero Emissions and Green Development initiatives. (AS/VK)
