The 7-day truce that started on September 12, Monday in Syria has been extended for another 48 hours.
US State Department Spokesperson Mark Toner in his daily press meeting has answered the question as to the recent state of truce in Syria.
Noting that US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov made a phone meeting, Toner said both leaders agreed on extending the truce for two more days.
Stressing that violence in Syria has decreased to an extent, Toner stated that they still receive some information that there are still some right violations taking place.
Toner told that soldiers fighting for [Bashar Al] Assad regime and some opposition forces violate the truce and called on the Moscow to "use its influence on Assad and make sure the humanitarian aids reach their destination".
In the Sacrifice Feast, the US and Russia had come to an agreement in Geneva on September 9 about halting the conflict.
The truce declared to last for one week had entered into effect on September 12. (NV/TK)
