TRT Correspondent’s Prison Term Prolonged in Egypt

Egyptian authorities have reportedly added another 45 days to the arrest term of TRT correspondent Metin Turan. Jailed in Valley Natron Prison, Turan has been interrogated again with the participation of Turkey’s Ambassador to Egypt and his attorneys. 

Turan’s attorneys will submit an objection against the prolongation order.  

On August 19, Turan was detained the day after refuging along with 700 hundred protestors in Al-Fattah Mosque in Cairo during “Day of Rage” protests to run away from spree shooting. (EA/BM)
