The daylight saving time, which is also called the "year-round summer time" and has been adopted in Turkey in place of summer time, will continue to be in effect.
In the Resolution of the President, which was published on the Official Gazette today (October 2), it was stated, "With the aim of benefiting more from the daylight, the current daylight saving time (summer time all year round, GMT +3) will be in effect across the country all year round every year."
With this resolution, the decree of the Council of Ministers dated October 2017, which ruled for the continuation of summer time, and its decree dated October 29, 2018, which ruled that clocks shall be set back, have been repealed.
As of today, clocks will not be set back and Turkey will be in the time zone of GMT 3+.
As per the decree of the Council of Ministers, which was published on the Official Gazette on September 8, 2016, the summer-winter time, which had continuously been in effect in Turkey since 1972, was abolished and the summer time has become permanent. (ÇT/SD)
