Officials of a company operating at the Yalova Sefine Shipyard in northwestern Türkiye attempted to put a safety belt on a worker after he was killed, a video released by a shipyard workers' union has revealed.
Yasin Demirağ, 19, was killed after falling from a high place in the shipyard. The video released by the DİSK Limter İş union shows a brawl between several people while the killed man is laying on the ground.

According to the union, workers were preventing a job safety specialist for the Özyılmazlar company, a subcontractor, from putting a safety belt on the worker.
"In order to save himself, the job safety [specialist] is trying to put a safety belt on the worker," the union wrote on Twitter.
Since the enactment of the Occupational Health and Safety Law in 2013, at least 288 shipyard and marine workers have been killed on the job, according to the Health and Safety Labor Watch (İSİG). At least 26 workers were killed this year. (HA/VK)
