Turkey reports 1,254 new coronavirus cases, four deaths in a day

The Ministry of Health reported 1,254 new coronavirus cases and 4 deaths yesterday (May 16). The country's death toll stands at 98,904 with a total of 15.1 million cases.

Some 128,957 people were tested for the virus and 1,358 people recovered from the disease in 24 hours.

Over 85 percent of the country's adult population have received at least two doses of the coronavirus vaccine with 27.7 million people receiving at least three jabs, according to the ministry figures.

As the number of new cases has been on the decrease, the government on April 26 lifted the indoor mask mandate except for public transport vehicles and health institutions. (VK)
