Truck explosion claimed the lives of four workers in the district of Silopi in Turkey's southeastern province of Şırnak yesterday (June 17).
The vehicle was carrying fuel for road work in Şırnak province when the blast occurred, the Governor's Office has indicated in a written statement.
The truck exploded near Kurtik Tepe area at around 6.35 p.m. yesterday, the statement of the office has added further.
As reported by the Anadolu Agency (AA), while the first statement of the Governor's Office noted that "the cause of the explosion was being inquired," the Office has issued a second statement later and said that it was "an act of terrorism" carried out by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
"The truck exploded as an improvised explosive device considered to be planted by the Separatist Terrorist Organization on the roadside went off," the Governor's Office has said in its last statement.

Most recently, the explosion of an improvised explosive device claimed the lives of two workers and injured at least eight others in Turkey's eastern province of Van on June 8.
