The United Kingdom Ministry of Foreign Affairs has updated its travel warning about Turkey. In the update released on the website of the ministry, people were advised not to travel to cities of Şırnak, Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Diyarbakır, Siirt, Tunceli, Hakkari, Kilis and Hatay.
Warning concerning “potential protests and demonstrations” was removed in the travel update. The statement which indicated that additional security measures might be taken in flights from the UK to Turkey recommended the passengers to cooperate with security staff.
More than 1.7 million UK citizens travelled to Turkey in 2016. (PT/TK)
