After a mine collapsed yesterday (February 18) in Milas district in Muğla province, rescue teams have reached the bodies of two workers who left under the wreckage.
One worker was rescued injured and one was found dead yesterday in the mine owned by the Kömürcüoğlu Group company.

The rescue teams reached the bodies of the workers after an 15-hour effort. The bodies have not yet been pulled out of the wreckage.
Muğla Governorship has released a statement on the incident, saying that the efforts are continuing to pull the bodies out of the wreckage.
Collapse happened during removal of rock blocks
Milas Chief Public Prosecutor Adem Efe said in a written statement yesterday that the collapse happened when blocks of albite mine got loose during the removal of the rocks from the detonation area.
In Sarıkaya Neighborhood in Milas, there are around 12 feldspar mines. Feldspar, called the "white mineral" by the locals, is also a raw material for ceramic.
About the Kömürcüoğlu company
The mine that was collapsed is owned by the Kömürcüoğlu Group.
The company, according to its own website, produces sodium feldspar, quartz, olivine and bauxite ores in southwestern Anatolia and processes these in the facilities located in the same region. It works with the industries of ceramics, glass, composite stone, metallurgy, iron and steel, casting, refractory, cement and aluminum.
The company produced and sold 450,000 tons of raw material in 2017. (TP/VK)
