PM Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed to the crowds in the northwestern province of Bursa this early evening, saying that they would “root out the social media network twitter” in Turkey.
“The court issued a ruling. Some might say ‘What would the international community say?’ I don’t care,” he added.
Erdoğan also said the following on the recent voice recordings leaked through various internet sources:
“You can’t tap a prime minister, a president or a minister. You can’t issued a court order. There is no such thing.
He also added that such issued had nothing to do with freedoms.
“Freedom is not breaching somebody’s confidentiality. We will not let this happen. We are taking measures promptly. It is a matter of national security,” he said.
“They should bring flags too"
Regarding the recent ban issued by Turkey’s High Election Council on an AKP ad with a Turkish flag, Erdoğan said the following: “They considered this within the bans as well. Other parties should bring Turkish flags and advertise themselves. Flags evoke significant emotions.” (EA/BM)
