Barış Çakan was stabbed to death in the district of Etimesgut in the capital city of Ankara at around 10.30 p.m. yesterday (May 31).
As reported by Mezopotamya Agency (MA) based on the statements of his family, Barış Çakan left his house to sit with his friends at a park. He was attacked by a group of three people in the Alsancak Neighborhood because he was listening to Kurdish music, according to his family.
Stabbed in his chest, Çakan lost his life in the scene on incident. The three assaulters were detained afterwards.
Cousin Çakan: We were also attacked before
Taken to Private Etimad Hospital, Çakan's deceased body could be laid to rest, says his cousin Doğan Çakan, who adds that they were themselves also assaulted before because they listened to Kurdish music.
