Kept in custody since July 5, 2016 and detained again after being released yesterday (July 9), journalist Şerife Oruç has been released.
Working as report at Dicle News Agency which was shut down by a statutory decree, Oruç was charged wth “being a member of an illegal organization ».
There was a detention warrant for her
Oruç found out that a detention warrant was issued by Diyarbakır 4th Criminal Judgeship of Peace for her when she was kept in custodyand that the case was later combined with the one in Batman.
However, the officials stating that the warrant wasn’t revoked sent Oruç to Elazığ Courthouse.
Oruç was released after the warrant was revoked by Batman 2nd Heavy Penal Court. (TP/TK)
