Among the seven Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) members who were detained during police raids on July 29, five have been remanded in custody.
The party members are charged with "being a member of an illegal organization."
HDP Party Assembly member Livan Orman and four members of the party's İstanbul Youth Assembly, Ahmet Beyazıt, İsmail Toptamur, Mehmet Salih Karatay and Mehmet Salih Dikmen, have been sent behind bars. Two other detainees have been released.
The party members were referred to the courthouse yesterday, following four days in detention. (TY/VK)
