The Governor's Office of Diyarbakır has announced that five people have lost their lives in an attack that was launched by the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in the district of Kulp in Turkey's southeastern province of Diyarbakır at around 6.30 a.m. today (April 8).
As reported by state-run Anadolu Agency (AA), while a vehicle with forest workers on board was passing along a road in rural Güleç Neighborhood, an improvised explosive previously placed on the roadside exploded.
While several gendarmerie and healthcare personnel were referred to the scene of incident, Mezopotamya Agency has reported that the deceased bodies of five people will be taken to Diyarbakır in ambulances.
In a written statement released by the Governor's Office of Diyarbakır, it has been indicated that security forces have launched an operation to identify and catch the perpetrators of the attack. (AS/SD)
