As coronavirus infections have increased in the country, President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has warned the citizens to comply with the measures against the pandemic.
"The coronavirus outbreak has radically changed a lot of things in our lives. We redesign our work in accordance with the virus reality," he said at a press conference in the capital, Ankara, after a meeting with his party's provincial heads.
"We have to wear a mask. You see [people] with masks under their chins. This shouldn't happen," Erdoğan warned.
Saying that Turkey has a sufficient number of hospitals, Erdoğan remarked, "Our doctors have made great efforts. Our ambulances are mobilized at any moment. But our people should understand us. Take a break from entertainment in crowded places. Take a break from entertainment and that stuff in this period."
"I guess it's better to take a break from entertainment than sleeping in a coma in hospital beds," he added. (AS/VK)
