“No country is outside of this process”
This is not a local situation which only concerns some countries in Middle East and South Africa. On the contrary, it is a matter which affects all countries and regions and has a global dimension. Hence the terrorist attacks in France, Belgium, Tunisia, Egypt and US have shown that no county is left out in this process, regardless of how developed they are and where they are located”.
“NATO should update itself”
"Today we are faced with new security challanges caused by terrorist organizations such as DAİŞ (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), Al Quaida, PYD and YPG in addition to previous classical threats.
“The refugee crisis and the immigration movements affect the whole world. Cyber attacks, epidemics, local instabilities affect even countries which are geographically isolated. [...] During this process, NATO should be more active and should update itself against these new threats.
“In order to maintain the global stability and the balance of powers, the alliances should further act in solidarity [...]. We expect that NATO takes more action against the developments which affect the security in Turkey negatively.”

Erdoğan has reiterated that he could possibly get together with the Russian President Vladimir Putin before the G20. He has noted that the meeting was planned to be held in August but the concrete date had not been determined yet. (EA/DG)
