President and Justice and Development Party (AKP) Chair Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke about the results of presidential and parliamentary elections at the Extended Provincial Chairs Meeting of the AKP today (July 6).
Erdoğan reminded his audience that the Supreme Election Council (YSK) announced the official election results and said, "We have won the favor in the eyes of the nation with a vote rate of 52.59 percent."
"Figures determined by the separatist organization are in the parliament thanks to the CHP"
In his speech, Erdoğan accused the Republican People's Party (CHP) and impeached the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP):
"With the constitutional amendment approved by our nation on April 16, we once again frustrated the ones who wanted to drive our country into a corner. They embraced the June 24 elections as a last hope. The ones who would normally not greet each other on the street somehow united in the face of us. The CHP sent some of its voters to the party guided by the separatist terrorist organization* so as to carry the party over the electoral threshold.
"Thanks to the CHP, the figures who were determined by the separatist organization will be in the parliament as MPs.
"Both this nation and history will surely and openly call the CHP to account for turning the oldest political party of Turkey into a toy of a handful of marginals in the west and terrorist organization executives abroad."
İnce has denounced Erdoğan's statements
The Presidential candidate of the CHP Muharrem İnce has responded to the President Erdoğan's statements on his official Twitter account.
İnce has written, "Dear Erdoğan; you are shamelessly connecting the CHP with terrorist organizations. You govern the state; the intelligence, security and all other institutions of the state are in your hands. If you have any documents/ information, reveal them. But, if not, then you will be the biggest liar and slanderer of history." (HK/EKN/SD)
