A court has blocked access to reports about the appointment of the son of a university rector to the Presidency's public diplomacy agency.
According to reports, Taha Hülagü, the son of Kocaeli University Rector Sadettin Hülagü, was appointed as the manager of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality's SEKA Museum as soon as he graduated from university.
He was later appointed as a principal clerk at the municipality, which is led by the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). Both appointments were made without an exam.
After working as a principal clerk for one day, he was appointed to the Presidency's public diplomacy agency.
Upon an application by Taha Hülagü alleging that the reports were false and damaged his honor, dignity and reputation, the Kocaeli 1st Penal Judgeship of Peace blocked access to 13 reports about his appointment.
The judgeship concluded that the reports were of a nature that would provoke and cause reactions among the public. Similar reports were published before and publishing them again months later, therefore the reports were not up-to-date, it noted.
The judgeship ruled that Hülagü's personal rights were violated, the content in question should be blocked and deleted.
