Fahrettin Altun, the Chief of Communication for Presidency made an announcement yesterday night where he rejected claims made on Erdoğan's health.
Sharing the claims made in some foreign media that Erdoğan is seriously ill or hospitalized, Altun wrote, "We categorically reject such baseless claims regarding President Erdogan's health.
"The President will attend tomorrow's nuclear power plant opening via videoconference.
"No amount of disinformation can dispute the fact that the Turkish people stand with their leader and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his AK Party are set to win the May 14 elections."
Vice President Fuat Oktay participated the opening ceremony of the Ankara-Sivas High-Speed Rail-Line yesterday in Sivas and he replied questions of the reporters on train, on his return to Ankara.
In relation to President Erdoğan's health, he said, "Our President's health is very good. We are in contact with him all the time. The programs can always be revised. Our President will continue his works. He had a very tight program. He also stated himself, he had a cold."
Justice and Development Party (AKP) Vice President Erkan Kandemir also announced yesterday evening that Erdoğan is going to participate in the ceremony to be held in Akkuyu Nuclear Power Station today "online" and that the meeting planned to be held in Mersin today is going to be held on another date.
What happened?
The program broadcast jointly on on Kanal 7 and Ülke TV channels on Tuesday night (April 25) was suddenly interrupted while the host was asking a question to President Erdoğan. Erdoğan returned to the program 20-25 minutes later to state that they had to stop because he had seriously upset his stomach.
Erdoğan announced from his social media accounts yesterday on Wednesday that his daily program for the day was cancelled, and thanked everyone wishing him a speedy recovery.
It was also announced that Vice-President Fuat Oktay was going to participate in the programs to be held in Kırıkkale, Yozgat, and Sivas yesterday. (AS/PE)
