The "moderate military opposition" groups have launched an operation in Idlib, Syria and entered Nayrab village, the state-run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
The groups aim to capture two locations from the government forces, the AA said, citing local sources.
According to the sources, "the moderate opposition groups" entered the village of al-Nayrab and the city of Saraqib and began fierce clashes.
Two soldiers have been killed in an airstrike, the Ministry of National Defense announced.
The Turkey-backed groups claimed to have destroyed a tank and an armored personnel carrier belonging to the government forces.
Government forces captured al-Nayrab on February 3.
Located in southeastern Idlib, Saraqib is on the intersection point of two major highways, and is known as the "gateway" to the province.
