The Governorship of Turkey's southeastern province of Hakkari has announced that the districts of Hakkari center, Çukurca, Şemdinli, Yüksekova and Derecik have been declared "special security zones" for 14 days.
In a statement released on the official website of Hakkari Governorship, the reason for the ban has been indicated as "ensuring security and public order for citizens' safety of life and property".
For 14 days
The Governorship has stated, "All types of measures are taken within the frame of related legislation to ensure security and public order in the region to primarily safeguard citizens' safety of life and property and to maintain the existing environment of peace and trust."
Accordingly, referring to the Law on Prohibited Military Zones and Security Zones, the Governorship has announced that "five areas within the borders of city center and districts of Çukurca, Şemdinli, Yüksekova and Derecik have been declared special security zones".
That being the case, entering the above-mentioned areas without permission will be prohibited from October 14 to October 28.
