Four women politicians from Democratic Regions Party (DBP), and Free Woman Congress (KJA) have been arrested.
16 Kurdish politicians had been detained in the simultaneous operation launched into many places including Local Administration buildings of the KJA and DBP in Diyarbakır, Antep, Van, and Ankara on Sunday (April 10).
Five of the detained have been referred to court for arrest to have their testimony taken by prosecution yesterday (April 11).
Democratic Local Administrations Union Co-Chair, Çimen Işık, DBP Party Assembly members Pero Dündar, Olcay Kanlıbaş, and KJA member Zozan Toprak were arrested by the court on duty they were taken to. Southeastern Anatolia Region Municipalities Union (GABB) worker Seher Tümer was released. The four arrested women have been sent to Diyarbakır E Type Closed Prison. Procedures of the other 11 are continuing.
Işık, Dündar, and Kanlıbaş arrested last night was arrested in Diyarbakır within the scope of Group of Communities in Kurdistan (KCK) operations on April 14, 2009, and then released on April 12, 2014.
Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Ali Atalan has submitted summary of proceedings as to the detentions and arrests against the politicians.

Following questions have been included in the summary:
- On which causes do the detention and arrest operations against the politicians rest? What are the legal justifications of these operations?
- What is the number of arrested DBP and HDP administrators as of November 1, 2015?
- What is the number of criminal and administrative investigations launched into people and institutions, especially the academics that undertake activities and give statement in favor of solving the Kurdish question by peaceful and political means and methods?
- Is it planned to break will of the voters by arresting their representative?
- Are there enough prisons for dissidences who didn’t vote for the Justice and Development Party (AKP) on November 1, 2015 General Elections.
- Doesn’t arresting the politician who try to become medium to end conflict environment by grounding democratic demands on a constitutional base, cause to move away from peaceful environment? (ÇT/TK)
