It has been announced that the town of Kendirli and four villages in Turkey's Black Sea province of Rize have been quarantined as a precaution against the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).
In a statement released by the Rize Provincial Directorate of Health, it has been indicated that "the town of Kendirli and the villages of Yeni Selimiye, Beştepe, Esentepe and Malepe, which are in close contact with the town, have been quarantined to prevent any potential coronavirus cases."
The statement has shared the following quarantine conditions:
"No entries or exits will be allowed. The names of all citizens who have the symptoms such as high body temperature and cough will be taken by the neighborhood and village heads; afterwards, medical teams will visit houses one by one and do a medical check on the people listed by the heads.
"Every person who has the symptoms will be definitely kept in isolation or hospitalized, if necessary. Places that meet the needs of citizens and make sales will be more strictly inspected."
The statement has further announced that citizens have also been restricted from going out in the public, except for the ones who are given a permission or except for very urgent needs.
As of today (March 27), 92 people have lost their lives due to novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and a total of 5,697 cases have been confirmed:
