The explosion that killed six people and wounded 81 others in İstanbul's Taksim today (November 13) might be caused by a planted bomb, the justice minister has said.
"A woman sits on one of the banks there for 40 minutes, and then she leaves. One or two minutes after she left, the explosion occurres," Bozdağ told A Haber channel.

"There are two possibilities. Either there was a [bomb] set-up in that bag and it explodes, or someone detonates it remotely," he said, adding that the investigation into the footage and the woman in question, who has not yet been identified, are underway.
"It is considered to be an act of terrorism. Which terrorist organization it is will be identified as a result of the investigation. There is no conclusive data at the crime scene other than fragments."
Bozdağ, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and Vice President Fuat Oktay visited the scene of the incident late today.
Earlier, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the vice president had also said a woman might have been involved in the explosion. (VK)
