Her 16-year-old brother A.D. had attacked her with stones and a chopping knife. On November 13, 2003, she was taken at a university hospital in Dicle. Her brother was detained.
As the Diyarbakir Women's Platform, on Monday November 16, we visited K.D. at the hospital.
The scene was the same. She was lying down where Semse Allak had been lying down some time ago. Just like Semse, she was clinging to life with various equipments. She was breathing through those equipments. The scene was the same. Her head had been shaven too. The only difference was their faces.
And the fact that one was from Diyarbakir, and the other was from Mardin. According to the nurses, another difference was the fact that people from her family had attended to and taken care of K.D.
We all thought Semse was the last victim, we hoped she would be. But, it seems that those dark mentalities are slapping the reality on our faces; the reality that she would not be the last. (NB/NM/EA/NM)
