On its official website, the General Staff announced that it carried out an air operation in the Northern Iraqi Zap region on Wednesday (26 December) morning.
The statement said that the army had identified eight caves and shelters which the PKK militants were preparing to spend the winter in, and that fighter planes had been involved in "point operations" since the morning hours.
In the same statement, it said that the army "neutralised" three PKK fighters, two of them women, on the Küpeli Mountain in Sirnak, in southeastern Turkey.
The statement did not comment on the claims of a fourth air operation reported by the Reuters News Agency on Tuesday (25 December). (TK/AG)
