Makbule Özer, 80, and her husband, Hadi Özer, 79, were sentenced to 2 years and 6 months and sent to jail for "aiding an illegal organization", the Mezopotamya Agency (MA) reported.
The couple living in the Edremit district of the eastern province of Turkey, Van was detained with their children during a house raid on 24 July 2018.
They were sued on the grounds of "aiding an organization". Their prison sentences were confirmed in the high court of appeals and the couple was sent to prison.
The application by the lawyers demanding home incarceration was also rejected. (AS/TB)
