“Demonstration and protests such as sit-in protest, distributing leaflets, hunger strike have been banned” in the whole Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, and Şahinbey, Şehitkâmil and Oğuzeli districts in Antep.
The official website of Hakkari Governorship declared the reason for the 30-day ban as “maintaining national security and public order”.
Imposing the ban by the power granted through the statutory decree, the governorship in its statement said that ban decision was taken to “control the sympathizer groups leaving the cities and prevent potential crimes”. (AS/TK)
