Nihat Kazanhan, a 12 year old boy from in the southeastern Cizre district, died after being shot with a bullet in the head.
The incident took place last night after Democratic Society Congress (DTK) chairman Hatip Dicle and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) deputies Selma Irmak and Faysal Sarıyıldız met with representatives from local NGOs in downtown Cizre. The boy was shot in Yasef neighborhood.
According to CNNTürk, police vehicles allegedly patrolled around the neighborhood as the incident happened.
According to Firat News Agency (ANF), the incident took place after a police intervention with gas bombs and shootings even though no unrest took place.
Despite neighborhood dwellers’ efforts for the boy’s hospitalization, medical intervention didn’t bring Kazanhan back to life. (EKN/BM)
