Turkey's unemployment rate in April stood at 10.2%, a new survey by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reveals.
According to a countrywide study, including the February 6 earthquake-affected regions, the unemployment rate in April climbed by 0.1 percentage points.
The total count of employed individuals rose from 521,000 to 31,610,000, while the labor force participation rate experienced a 0.9 percentage point increase, reaching 53.9%.
Among men, the participation rate stood at 71.7%, whereas for women, it was 36.4%. The unemployment rate was estimated at 8.1% for men and 14.3% for women.
When it comes to youth unemployment, the rate among individuals aged 15-24 declined by 1.2 percentage points, settling at 19.1%, the survey indicates. For men, it was 15.7%, and for women, it reached 25.4%.
The number of unemployed individuals aged 15 and over rose by 74,000, reaching a total of 3,585,000. (RT/WM)
