The Karlıova district of Bingöl, eastern Turkey, experienced a torrential downpour last night, with the rainfall intensifying intermittently and leaving a significant impact on the region.
In the village of Dörtyol, the intense downpour resulted in flooding in the Peri Stream. The overflowing waters inundated several houses, barns, and fields in the area.
Residents faced difficulties as they worked hard to evacuate their animals from the barns.
Selahattin Alkan, a resident of the village, voiced their concerns to Anadolu Agency (AA), saying, "Whenever it rains, a flood swiftly follows, breaching the walls and entering our homes. It is imperative that a solution is found to address this situation."
Furthermore, in the city center, the heavy rain caused flooding in the underpass at the vicinity of the Small Industrial Site, impacting several businesses. As a result, the underpass has been closed to traffic.
Efforts are currently underway by the authorities to drain the accumulated water and mitigate the effects of the flooding. (TY/VK)
