What is parkour?
Parkour is a physical education type and a life style that aims to move from one point to another fast and efficiently by using body skills as efficient as it can through pushing its limits.
Male sporters are called “tracuer”, and women sporters are caleed “traceuse”.
It is known as city sport in our day.
Founders of the sport are David Belle and a group of his friends living in France.
David Belle and Sébastien Foucan formed the goup “Yamakasi” in 1997.
Foucan comments on parkour as follows:
“In fact, parkour was always there, we have just named it. It is not something that we created, we’ve just found out its existence. Parkour exists as of stone age. People were running around to hunt, escape or chase…” (EKN/TK)
