Vice Prime Minister Nurettin Canikli has said that the list concerning expels of academics will be sent to the Higher Education Council (YÖK) and the wrongdoings will be fixed.
According to a report by Nuray Babacan from Hürriyet newspaper, expulsion of 330 academics by the latest Statutory Decree was discussed as well at Group Administrative Board of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) meeting. The AKP deputies brought the subject to agenda, the report says. The members asked Canikli of who prepared the list. The members stated that they closely know many figures on the list and there is no chance that they could be anyway linked with any illegal group.
