After the Ministry of Interior has appointed trustees to Metropolitan Municipalities of Diyarbakır, Van and Mardin, the official websites of the municipalities have been closed.

Several social media users, including politicians from the HDP, CHP and SP have denounced the appointment of trustees to HDP’s Metropolitan Municipalities of Van, Diyarbakır and Mardin, who have been removed from office earlier in the day.

The Ministry of Interior has announced that 418 people have been taken into custody in operations conducted in 29 provinces, particularly in Diyarbakır, Mardin and Van, whose metropolitan mayors have been removed from office earlier today.
