Activists Attacked by Unknown Perpetrators after Pride Parade
After attending Pride Parade, activists were attacked by unidentified persons in Tophane district of Istanbul. Four protesters were taken to hospital while an activist’s nose was broken. Witnesses said attackers shouted “You can’t escape, traitors!”

German freelance photojournalist Robin Hinsch has been detained for three days in guesthouse of Urfa Provincial Directorate of Security on the grounds that he trespassed Syria border. Hinsch said he had been interrogated for one and half day without sleep.

The Media’s 3 Months: 186 Journalists Fired
23 journalists entered the month of July in prison. 15 new cases were filed based on the TMK in April-June 2014; 38 people were convicted in total to 2 months 15 days in prison and 277,400 TL in fines for insulting the Prime Minister. 54 reporters were attacked. The ECHR gave a penalty of 160,000 TL in fines.
