Amid ongoing protests against the appointed rector of Boğaziçi University, Erdoğan has issued a Presidential decree to open two new faculties at the university. The Boğaziçi Solidarity has addressed an open letter to the President.

The president has continued accusing the protesters of "terrorism" and targeting LGBTI+s.

Despite the strong defense of the attorneys and witness statements, the İstanbul 36th Heavy Penal Court has ruled that Osman Kavala shall remain behind bars. The file of his “espionage” case has been merged with that of “Gezi”.

Academics from both universities have demanded the release of the detained protesters and the resignation of Prof. Bulu as the Boğaziçi University rector.
