Lawyers Hüseyin Ersöz, Özgür Urfa and Bahar Topsakal have spoken to bianet about the charges brought against the 11 university students who have been arrested over Boğaziçi University protests.

Academics of the two İstanbul universities have gathered on their respective campuses.

Spokesperson for the US State Department Price has said, “Our policy vis-a-vis the S-400s has not changed. S-400s are incompatible with NATO equipment.” Turkey’s Presidential Spokesperson Kalın has noted that “Biden knows Turkey and Erdoğan.”

Turkey’s Health Ministry has announced that the country’s death toll from the coronavirus has reached 27,093. The country has seen 8,642 new infections while the number of daily tests has been below 140 thousand.

The court has ruled for the release of Turkish Medical Association (TTB) High Honorary Board member Dr. Şeyhmus Gökalp, who is standing trial over his professional activities as a physician and was arrested in late November 2020.

One more student has been arrested over Boğaziçi University protests against the appointed rector. Five students have also been detained for painting slogans to express their demand for the release of their friends.

Amid ongoing protests of Boğaziçi University students and academics against the appointed rector, journalists have released a joint statement and said, “We don’t bow down, we know that journalism is not a crime.”

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) has announced the labor force statistics for November 2020. According to the TurkStat, the number of unemployed people decreased by 303 thousand in November, which marked a 0.4 point decrease.
