Thirteen of the people on trial in the "Revolutionary Headquarters" case heard the name of the organisation for the first time when they were taken into custody. When the police arrested Duruoğlu and Seven, they used the above expression, meaning that sometimes the innocent get caught up as well.

The Radio and Television Supreme Council has announced that 14 radio stations and TV channels have been given permission to broadcast in Kirmanci, Zaza and Arabic. Previous restrictions have been lifted.

High-Ranking Military Officers Arrested in Balyoz Investigation
Five admirals, three of them retired, and two retired colonels have been arrested related to the Balyoz coup plan. Six people were released. Retired commanders Fırtına and Örnek were taken to the courthouse. The Prime Minister held a meeting with the ministers in the evening.

First Hearing of "Revolutionary Headquarters" Trial
Ten defendants were released pending trial due to lack of evidence for the alleged membership of the "Revolutionary Headquarters" terror organization. Lawyer Kanar requested to exclude illegally obtained evidence. The defendants denied the accusations put up against them.

Torture Case of Killed Activist Çeber Postponed
The prosecutor excused his absense in yesterday's hearing of the trial regarding Engin Çeber who was killed by torture in custody. The case was postponed ot 12 April. The case launched against Çeber's friends who were also exposed to torture continues today.

16 Military Officials Arrested
Six retired commanders and a further ten colonels were arrested in relation with the "Balyoz Coup Plan". Prime Minister Erdoğan said the incident is now taken under "legal procedures"; Chief of Staff Başbuğ did not comment but cancelled his visit to Egypt.

The Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court Prosecutor demanded a 105-fold prison sentence for Vedat Kurşun, former chief editor of Kurdish Azadiya Welat newspaper, under charges of "spreading propaganda for a terror organization".

Former DTP MP Tuğluk was acquitted of charges of "spreading propaganda for an illegal organization". At the same time, PKK leader Öcalan's lawyers Dündar and Aydınkaya received a 10 months prison sentence, which was suspended on probation.

The European Court of Human Rights decided that the punishment of publisher Akdaş by reason of the book "The Eleven Thousand Rods" by Apollinaire was a disregard of freedom of expression. The book is considered as a work belonging to the European literature heritage.

21 Years Prison Sentence for Kurdish Editor Özen
A Diyarbakır Court sentenced Kurdish Azadiya Welat newspaper owner Ozan Kılınç to 15months imprisonment each for twelve issues of the paper. Additionally, he received a six years three months sentences charged with "committing a crime on behalf of an illegal organization". An arrest warrant was issued for Kılınç.

Dozens of BDP Members Arrested - Again
In operations carried out in eleven provinces last weekend the police arrested more than 100 people, most of them members of the Peace and Democracy Party. Of all people arrested in Hakkari, 15 persons were taken into detention.

Only Effective Judiciary Can End Threats against Agos Newspaper
Armenian Agos newspaper was threatened frequently before and after the murder of editor-in-chief Hrant Dink. Now the newspaper's website has been hacked. Lawyer Çetin criticized that the judiciary lacks efficiency for crimes committed via the internet.

Disciplinary Fine for Detained Conscientious Objector Aydemir
The Eskişehir Military Court imposed a one-month disciplinary fine on conscientious objector Enver Aydemir because of his refusal to wear prison clothes and disobedience of orders. Aydemir is not allowed for one month to see anybody else but his lawyer.
